   By that standard anyone who doesn’t use an IGFA compliant leader isn’t fly fishing either.

   Oh no! I tied my shock tippet too long! I guess I’d have been just as well off using a massive Penn reel! Please.

   If youre going for …
   If youre going for a IGFA record then yes it is not fly fishing. Only IGFA requires that the boat is out of gear when the cast is made. If we all followed those rules when we fished then there would not be much catching. Basically he used a fly rod with a real Fly and presented that fly to the fish. That is fly fishing.

   fly fishing is using a fly rod and fly by whatever means , period. Those guys catch the fish that jealous s dream about, good work and best wishes to flies and fins , my inspiration been fly fishing for three months now and catching more fish than I can handle!

    This guy isnt fly fishing he is trolling with a fly rod!!! That is NOT fly fishing. The boat must be out of gear in order for the catch to be considered a fly catch!
