which is the better fishing reel for salt water, strength and durability a spinning reel or conventional?
Depends on what type of fishing you are doing.
If you are ONLY offshore hauling in 100+ LB fish then a conventional would be more durable and "strong".
However, if you are jetty fishing or inshore saltwater fishing using a decent spinning outfit would be just as durable as a conventional.
If you only use conventional then you sacrifice casting distance and versatility.
But, if you need "brute strength" then conventional is the way to go.
