The Life...My Life !!!
I remember the day i got my leaving certificate from xavier's. i stepped out of the gate and burst into tears. i was leaving college n going to jai hind of all the colleges i could possibly go to. the orientation session for JHBMM dragged on n on n on... the seniors put up an enthusiastic dance n made some fun videos... but the speeches just wouldnt end! i looked around to see i the class was filled with girls... but that wasnt new... in xavier's there were wat 10 guys in a class of 120! there were no familiar faces. i shifted uneasily in my chair, trying my best to keep the eyelids from drooping. The first day of college began with the SY's getting a li'l naughty. Ritesh pretended to b a professor (n he kinda looked the part
) n asked us boring questions that we tried to sincerely answer. Then came the CR elections. I got elected n Amaan was coaxed into it collectively by the class. The first day had just begun n i was already representing a class i was clueless about in a college i had always looked at as a rival.
It was July and Jai Hind was abuzz with Malhar preparations. I realised the only way i could possibly feel like a part of jai hind was being on the malhar contingent. So i auditioned for Bollywood dance...and got selected. The theme for Malhar that year was Strret spirit, n the bollywood dance had to be based on the theme of: roadside romeo. Honestly, wearing nav-vari sarees and dancing with guys dressed as Mawali-s on a song like: 'kya lagti hai ' isnt really my thing. All 8 of us on the bollywood team- Navyu, Raashi, Shraddha, Tanmay, Shivam, Harsh, and Siddhant, were quite sceptical about how wat we were doing wud look. But we trusted the choreographer and the SDU. So right at the beginning of BMM, i was nowhere to be seen in the class. The next month i was running all over the college juggling Malhar, CR responsibilites, projects and Project Support (thankfully i had backed out of Polaris). I still remember some1 form class stopping me and saying- "Rashmi, BREATHE!"
And so, after innumerable orange candies, dosa-s, watermelon juices, deo bottles; changing in those horrible washrooms which wouldnt lock; the SDU strategically pestering , bossing, encouraging, cheering, telling us we suck and looking at us like a proud mother looks at her children as she assures them they'll win; being seen in college only in tracks and t-shirts... we so totally rocked the event!!
15 days after Malhar was Project Support. My most vivid PS memory is the overnight at college. Dinner
at Pizzeria, coffee at marine plaza, talks of virginities lost and blow jobs(the cocktail) had, a beautiful late night walk along marine drive. Purav acted soooo considerate and dint let me sleep a wink! looking bak i really dont mind, it was the beginning of a friendship i cherish today!
Once all of this was over, i was bak in class! weeeee! surviving certain lectures, getting scandalised at pronunciations, pleading for attendance, pissing off Patki, getting fired at by Vara and having a lecture in Mocha... we did it all. the projects were pretty crazy too! the socio documentary was just smooth... n history ads were insane (we dresed some gorgeous girls as ugly chinese men, akshat was the yuk yuk chinese wife wearing my tube dress, arnav was the hyper chinese reporter and i looked creepy as i fit in a small carton)!
Cutting Chai was the first BMM fest i participated in n it was some mad fun! we were the cheerleaders for the rink football team... n yes we scorched the National's basketball court! n i placed third in the other event i was participting in as well(investigative journo)! Affee was losing it and Khushboo was trying her best to keep her cool...aanndd we won cutting chai! it was brilliant...
Then came Blitzkrieg... Udit Tarun n me were a team for the shortfilm event...and together we made bandhish... casting Prabal in the film was a good decision and him bringing in Dagli to help us was even better! we had an amazing night shooting at Akhil's place. and yes, i spent that night wit some 8 guys!
i also acted in Ghunghroo that Akshat Amaan n Aakash made... and thank god mum was around when we shot that sequence! another highlight of blitzkrieg was the play. we got a standing ovation. we placed third (time limit fiasco) but parth got best actor and i got best actress! and i was in the dance... where we totally rocked the stage! first place baby! but overall, they said we lost blitzkrieg by 5 points! wat?!!
Jan onwards nobody was allowed to do any fests... but i was roped in for the streetplay for the principal's major major event- Brand India... and wat was even better was that i was going to get attendance for all the practices! Jinit and Jesse directed the play... it was funny how they thought i'll mind being the only girl in the team of 10. each and everyone was on stage all through the 20 min street play. the directors were just brilliant! i loved the play and so did everyone else! during the practices, it was breakfast at ISH and then lunch at ISH and then snacks at ISH and dinner at...lemme think...ISH again! The play was a hit! Dolly Thakore invited us to meet wit Q productions and perform at prithvi. and someone told jesse he resembled Johny Lever...
(btw, the dessert for lunch on the day of the event was the best brownie wit ice cream i have ever had)
Its been a long long note, but the year just swooshed by... my resume grew considerably, but more importantly, the friendships, efforts, competitiveness, determination and victories made me grow... as i write this note, i am no longer in jai hind bmm... now that i'll b spending another 3 years for graduation, did i waste this one year? it sure doesnt sound like it! i smoked 5 cigarettes in 3 hours in arnav's bathroom, with arnav sitting on the pot, nisha crouching in a corner near him, n amaan holding the camera in my face... i burst a jumbo balloon right in front of leopold's for nisha's shortfilm and then all 3 of us made puppy faces at the police... i played hollywood bollywood wit zara n aaliya, devised a code language wit nikita mor... shot in a jungle on a sky scraper and in a pool and got thrown on a rock thrown off the terrace an drowned respectively...made friends with Dev n Sushma...chaired a committee with ppl from all over the world at an international UN summit... lost it over the management project, enjoyed ppl getting drunk, went clubbing wit some whacky clubbing buddies, crossed my fingers wheneva any1 said BMM classes always fall apart, loved a lot of people, and was loved by a lot of people...
after its all done, all that matters is if u r remembered...if u r missed... i'm told i am!

dog training help puppy?
i have a 11 week old northern inuit puppy bitch she is called zara and i need efficient ways of house training her and also she likes to chew on fingers is this just puppy behaviour and will she grow out of it~?
I laugh sometimes especially when people say you must be firm and consistant you must do this you must do that. Your puppy is a baby as you know. I suppose its just like parenting you have to get to know Zara's signs and behaviour pattern. We have Luke he is 18 months old now (my baby) what we or should i say I did with Luke was simple. When he woke up i grabbed the ball made some weird playing noises and ran outside, he would play for a few moments and i would keep saying to him go wee wee i did this when he ate when he played and when he woke up. As soon as you Zara sniffing about get her outside i never picked Luke up as this tended to make him think he was in trouble if i rushed over and scopped him up. I would just run outside and say wee wee when he did he got a great big fuss and loads of cuddles. When he did mishap i never scolded him or shouted at him, I would simply look at him and take him outside and not play with him for ten minutes (god it was agony) but luke learned very quickly. Even at 18 months before we go to bed or out in car i still say to luke go wee wee and he does because it is a word i have associated with him when he does he gets a fuss and cuddle. even now. As for the chewing i agree this must be stopped quickly Zara does not know she is doing wrong and remember she is teething. When Luke chewed often on my toes one day i screamed out like an injured puppy and he was so sorry i ignored him for a llittle time, when he tried to chew me again i would yelp. again this made him think he was hurting me. We gave him plenty of Hide chews and rubber balls as you know puppies can be very destructive a sharp no and a point does not injure a puppy but a scolding does. You have a lot more to come but you will get there and in the end you will have the perfect girl. Gd Luck and Love to Zara x x
